Shen Yun ‘Inspires You,’ Says Theatergoer in Mexico

Shen Yun Performing Arts tours the globe with one goal: to bring audiences a glimpse into traditional Chinese culture from before communism.

On April 27 and April 28, Shen Yun’s artists graced the stage in Guadalajara, Mexico.

“It inspires you. The combination of dance with the live orchestra, the costumes that are very, very colorful and part of how they take you through Chinese history,” said Nadia Gonzalez, the co-owner and commercial director of PC-SOFTWARE.

“The truth is that the dancers are beautiful and have a great capacity for interpretation, all of them. The costumes, the colors, the stories they tell, it makes you fall in love with the culture. I loved it,” said Alejandra Félix Morales, a psychologist, dance teacher, and owner of Dánzale.

“The magic that the dancers radiate is unique and transports us to the ancient era that spoke of the origin of Chinese dance,” said Julián Correa González, a lawyer and owner of CENTURY 21 Continental.

“I feel that they send forth a lot of harmony, a lot of peace, a lot of synchronization, a lot of flexibility, and they radiate excellent vibes,” he added.

Ancient Chinese people believed their culture was inspired by the Divine. Shen Yun showcases those traditions through classical Chinese dance, a live orchestra, animated backdrops, and ancient legends.

“A lot of inner peace, especially that allows us to look inside ourselves, where we can find many things spiritually and the transformations of life. It definitely leaves us with lots of lessons,” said Julio Cesar Marjón Sanchez, the owner of MERKALUM.

“What particularly moved me the most were those that were related to the presence of divinity, of divinity arriving on Earth,” said Estefano Macedo, a medical director at Centro Génica.

“It reminds me of this part of staying connected internally. It reminds me of this part that there is something Divine within us. It reminds me to keep this connection alive,” he added.

“Life experience and above all, faith in the Divine. And also in recognizing that each human being is also a seed of Divinity. I think that’s what I will take with me every day,” said Victor Gumaro Correa Ortega, a lawyer and owner of Correa Abogados.

“Very beautiful, very interesting. Through history and combining dance to express all those things and above all the values, discipline, and honesty,” said Leticia Martínez, a professor at the University of Guadalajara.

Every season, Shen Yun brings an all-new program to stages around the world. Many audience members say Shen Yun is more than just a performance.

“This is a presentation that opens my mind to see that there is this aspect of Chinese culture that is fighting for its freedom,” said Roger Smith, the owner of Smith Loera S.A. de C.V.

“I think it’s an excellent way because it’s a way that enters through the heart, so it is very powerful,” he added.

Jorge Alberto Aceves Martín del Campo, a business owner, said he was impressed with every aspect of Shen Yun’s performance.

“It is a first-class show. The colors, the interpretation, the stories, everything. The perfection of the movements and combining the dance with acrobatics, it’s tremendous,” he said.

“This was an extraordinary experience, clearly recommend it for our friends, our students, so that at some point they also have the opportunity to see it and enjoy it,” said Nicolas Alonso Estrella, a doctor and an official at the University of Guadalajara.

Shen Yun will perform in Mexico City from May 1 through May 5.
